There are two types of conventional greases on motor bearings: complex calcium-based grease (ZFG-2, ZFG-3) and lithium-based grease (ZL-2, ZL-3).
 
Calcium-based grease is composed of medium-viscosity mineral oil thickened with fatty acid calcium soap. Features: medium dropping point, good water resistance, and the maximum use temperature does not exceed 60°C.
 
Lithium-based grease is composed of medium-viscosity mineral oil thickened with fatty acid lithium soap. Features: high dropping point, good water resistance and good mechanical stability. It is suitable for the friction of rolling ball bearings and other wear parts of various mechanical equipment in a wide temperature range of -20℃~+120℃. Bearing oil leakage is closely related to grease. The ideal option is: the adhesion between the grease and the bearing should not be too low, the melting state of the grease is not fibrous, and a high dropping point is required.
 
Motor bearings use smooth metal balls or rollers and lubricated inner and outer ring metal surfaces to reduce friction. These balls or rollers "carry" the load, support the motor shaft, so that the motor (rotor) can rotate smoothly.
 
When the inner ring of the bearing is tightly fitted with the shaft, and the outer ring is loosely fitted with the bearing seat hole, the bearing can be press-fitted on the shaft with a press, and then the shaft and the bearing are installed in the bearing seat hole. The end face of the inner ring of the bearing is fitted with an assembly sleeve made of soft metal material (copper or mild steel).
 
The outer ring of the bearing is tightly fitted with the housing hole. When the inner ring and the shaft are loosely fitted, the bearing can be pressed into the housing hole first. At this time, the outer diameter of the assembly sleeve should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the housing hole.
 
If the bearing ring is tightly fitted with the shaft and the seat hole, the inner ring and outer ring should be installed into the shaft and the seat hole at the same time. The structure of the assembly sleeve should be able to press the end faces of the inner ring and the outer ring at the same time.
 
Under certain working conditions, the ability of the boundary membrane to resist rupture is called the strength of the boundary membrane. It can be expressed by critical pv value, critical temperature value or critical friction coefficient. In normal boundary lubrication, when the load p or the speed v increases to a certain value, the temperature of the friction pair suddenly rises, and the friction coefficient and wear amount increase sharply. When the boundary film strength reaches the limit value, the corresponding pv value is called the critical pv value.
